INGREDIENTS
Fried Rice
3 Tblsp Butter (divided)
2 Eggs (scrambled)
1 Tblsp Vegetable Oil
3/4 Cup Grilled Char Siu Pork
(cooked and diced)
2 Small Carrots (peeled and diced)
1/2 cup Frozen Peas
1/2 yellow onion (diced)
3 Cloves Garlic (minced)
3 Green Onions
3-4 Cups Cooked White Rice (chilled
and separated
Char Siu Fried Rice
Char Siu Marinade
1.5 Lbs. Pork Country Ribs (boneless)
1 1/2 Tblsp. Brown Sugar
1/4 Cup Honey
1/4 Cup Homemade Hoisin Sauce (see below)
2 Tblsp Soy Sauce
1 tsp. Five Spice Powder
1 Tblsp Canola Oil
Red Food Coloring (optional)
Mix the ingredients for the seasoning sauce in a small bowl and set aside.
Blanche the carrots in boiling water for 3-4 minutes or until they begin to soften. Add frozen peas and boil another 1 minute. Strain and
cool immediately in ice water. Drain and set aside.
In a large wok or wok pan, Cook the eggs in 1 Tblsp Butter then remove to a plate. Wipe the pan clean with a paper towel. Add the
vegetable oil and sear the Char Siu till caramelized. Remove to a plate.
Add the remaining butter and cook the onion until it’s translucent. Add the minced garlic and cook another 90 seconds. Add the Char
Siu, and the green onion and cook for two minutes (save some green onion for garnish if you like).
Add the cooked rice, peas, carrots and as much seasoning sauce as you prefer.
Stir fry for 5 minutes, pausing often to allow some of the rice on the bottom to get crispy (optional)
Season with Soy Sauce and Fresh Ground Black Pepper (to taste)
